Access Center is located inside the main building of the Kreisman Crisis Unit.
Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm. If in immediate need or for afterhours please utilize the bell and a staff member will come to assist you.

The Kreisman Campus is located behind Channel 7 studio’s on 10th Street. The driveway is immediately following the Channel 7 news station and is located on the north side of 10th street headed west.

We provide: crisis counseling, referral resources, family intervention, substance use and mental health screening. Walk-ins are welcome

Our dedicated Access Center Team is available to answer questions and help you navigate our process as well as provide resources. Staff will carefully explain the access process, treatment options and schedule any necessary appointments.

Kreisman Center CSU in Sarasota provides emergency services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to individuals age 18 and older who are experiencing a severe emotional or psychiatric crisis. The Kreisman Center CSU is the designated Public Baker Act receiving facility for adults in Sarasota County. Individuals are referred for screening and evaluation by law enforcement officers, family members, local hospital emergency rooms, physicians, mental health professionals, and other social service agencies if they present an imminent risk of “serious bodily harm” to themselves and/or others as a result of a mental health disorder and/or substance use.

Crisis Stabilization Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency services to individuals 18 and older who are experiencing a severe emotional or psychiatric crisis. Staff are healthcare professionals trained in risk assessment and crisis intervention evaluations.

The Lee County Mental Health Court (MHC) and Veterans Court (VC) is a problem-solving court program providing appropriate treatment and rehabilitation options to adults with a history of a severe mental health disorder or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders who are involved in the criminal justice system.
MHC and VC is a voluntary alternative to the traditional court system and provides:
  • Referral and linkage
  • Case coordination between judicial and local mental health & social services.
  • Program is part of an integrated system of care in Lee County

Mom’s Program: Maternal Outpatient Mental Wellness Program

The MOM’s Wellness Program addresses the psychological well-being of pregnant women and nursing mothers, safely and supportively.
A psychiatrist or ARNP specialized in psychiatric treatment for pregnant women and mothers will evaluate your needs and make recommendations that can include safely prescribing medications. Women can be referred for services by medical providers, obstetricians and/or pediatrician, Healthy Start, Department of Health or any other community providers.

The goal of care coordination is to assist individuals in accessing medical, social, educational and other services that reflect the needs, preferences, strengths and goals
of each individual. Follow-up is provided to determine the effectiveness of the services meeting wellness and recovery goals.

Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication prescription and monitoring are Provided by Board Certified psychiatrists or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners
(ARNP) supervised by Board Certified physicians. Individuals are encouraged to participate in adjunct outpatient individual and/or group therapies for optimal treatment outcomes and well-being.

These services include individual and group treatment for mental health and/or substance abuse problems. Our licensed professionals are trained in providing integrated treatment of co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders using best and promising practices that promote holistic health.

This program offers outpatient treatment services specifically tailored to the needs of pregnant women and women with dependent children who struggle with drug and/or alcohol addiction. It includes care coordination to ensure that the needs of the child and mother are met through linkage to and monitoring of additional social services to promote recovery, safety, and well-being of the family.

Family Life Intervention

(FLIP) 941-953-0000
Family Life Intervention Program (FLIP) is an outreach program designed to improve the lives of high-risk students ages 7 to 17 and their families. Students are referred by schools, community agencies, the court system, and their families.
A plan of action is developed that is appropriate for each individual and their family. The program combines therapy, tutoring, mentoring, and social activities. Students and their family receive support to gain independence and self-sufficiency.
Finding help can be difficult…..we coordinate all the services for you!
The program provides stability, positive peer interaction and mentoring

Journeys

The Journeys program is an adolescent substance use treatment and aftercare program that provides outreach, in-home on–site treatment and recovery support services to primarily two different groups of adolescents in Sarasota County:          

  • Youths who live in the community and  present significant substance use problems that lead to crisis emergency room admissions and are at risk for a more restrictive environment.  
  • Youths who have completed a residential substance abuse treatment program and will be re-entering the community.  

Journeys staff overcome common treatment barriers such as transportation by meeting with clients in the community and around their family’s schedules, whether at the client’s school or home.
This program is offered at no cost to families and is partially funded by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Compass Center

Compass Center is located on 4 acres in Punta Gorda. It is a 120 day dual diagnosis residential center for boys and girls 13-17 years old, with drug, alcohol and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Each individual’s treatment plan addresses their specific needs.
We emphasize personal responsibility and accountability, honesty, integrity, empathy, family, community involvement, self-reliance and a strong “moral” compass that reinforces good citizenry. COMPASS is not a “one size fits all” program. Our approach is holistic and unique.
Insurance is accepted, sliding scale payment options are available.
