Family Emergency Treatment Center

FAMILY EMERGENCY TREATMENT CENTER

The FETC provides immediate counseling and referral services to individuals who are experiencing a mental health or substance abuse emergency.

The FETC can also help find other needed services, such as child care, housing and job services.

Our dedicated and caring professionals staff the FETC from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday through Friday.

The Family Emergency Treatment Center (FETC) is a walk-in center offering immediate help for individuals and families with mental health and/or substance abuse problems. In addition, the FETC serves the community as a Temporary Safe Haven and Referral Resource and offers Family Interventions and Behavioral Health Screenings.

Whether you walk in or call, you will be greeted by friendly staff who will make you feel comfortable. Next you will meet with an experienced counselor who will help you with your problems. Before you leave, a care manager will assist you with any additional services you might need to continue your journey toward healing.

Our goal in providing immediate care at the FETC is to divert individuals from deeper end services such as crisis stabilization, hospitals, or even jail.

The Family Emergency Treatment Center is the only facility of its kind in Sarasota County.  In October 2005, the FETC received the "Best Practices Award" from the Mental Health Corporation of America (MHCA) for "Best Emergency Services." Based on Customer Satisfaction surveys, the Sarasota FETC scored the highest overall mean throught the nation's participants.

The FETC is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
