“Emotions of Recovery”

anger fearhope family

The adolescent residents at the Compass Center learned to express their emotions through art.  Ringling School of Art and Design graduate Jonathan Hobbs, acting as art director, helped the teenagers create four paintings representing anger, fear, hope and family.   The paintings are displayed in the dayroom at the center.

The Compass Center is a residential substance abuse treatment center for adolescents, ages 13 to 17.  Admission is voluntary and the average length of stay is six months.
